So I have started to watch a new anime…

I’ve never seen such majestic animation in my life! – me every time watching a new sports anime.

How is it that certain anime can make me you feel so foolishly happy and a wimp at the same time. Like making you feel so ordinary.

When I watched Free! last year I wanted to be a swimmer (and wanted a six-pack).

When I watched  Koruko no Basket the year before, I wanted to be a basketball player(and a six pack).

Now I watch Yuri! on ice and I want to be a figure skater (and also want a six pack).

Too bad I have zero talent in gymnastics or sports in general. But every single time I watch a sports anime it makes me want to go outside and lose weight, sigh. I should probably stop watching this, but its so flippin good. Maybe I am just watching it for the six packs (or Victor), don’t know.

Ugh, sometimes I am such a paradox…

there are too many sad eyes on happy faces.”

I have been following his work for years and finally his work is going to be published! You can pre-order his book now on Amazon!

Florence Welch (Florence+The Machine)

If you haven’t heard of the Florence Welch, then you haven’t heard good vocals yet. She is no doubt one of the BEST female singers of our time. Her vocals are indescribable. She is the lead singer of Florence+The Machine.

I study speech and language pathology and vocals (speech and singing) are one of the specialties I have to major in. I was a fan of her way back in the beginning, when they launched their first album ‘Lungs’.  But not after I became a student I noticed how actually perfect her vocals are in every detail and aspect. I haven’t had the chance to see her live unfortunately, but have watched all of her live videos. And every single time she performs with the utmost control of her voice.  I am eager to know if she had any therapeutic guidance to learn to use her voice like that. Because every time I hear it I can’t get over the perfection. Its undoubtedly that she is incredibly talented, lyrically and musically.

“Cause she’s just like the weather, can’t hold her together/ Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow” Song: Landscape

Florence+the Machine’s music is lyrically art. There isn’t anything like it in the music industry. The way she and her co-songwriter – who is also a part of the band write their music are not some random words put together like the mainstream music we hear nowadays. She is a true muse of our time. If you haven’t heard of them then do yourself a favor and check them out.

Legion: an ultimate mind-F

I started to watch a new television series and I must say that I am very impressed. It’s called Legion, and its based on the X-Men comics.  When I watched the first episode I was really confused figuring out in which time period it took place, but trough-out the next episodes it becomes more and more clear that its a mix of 1960s with modern-day elements. You see a lot of things and hear a lot of things from the main character’s distorted view of reality. Its as if you’re with him inside his head, experiencing everything. It also becomes clear that the world isn’t aware of having mutants in its midst so that takes everything to a whole other level.

The series is about a man called David Haller who is diagnosed with with schizophrenia at a young age and has been a patient in various psychiatric hospitals since. But we also see that he was having a normal life with a girlfriend at some point and from then on we see that everything went horribly wrong. We see him dealing with the voices in his head, his anxiety, his addiction and his struggle with his past. We are thrown into this psychedelic world and having all these unanswered questions that makes it so addicting to watch.

It surprised me when I found out that it was based on the world of the X-men. Because at first glance you would think that it wouldn’t fit at all in the genre. If you’re familiair with those type of movies or series you will know what I am talking about. Well this is a lot different and it’s really refreshing. It is an ‘out of the box’ way of thinking and we get to see how messed up everything is. Its definitely not like ‘Yeah I am awesome, I have superpowers and I am gonna save the world from evil’ – type of thing. Its a lot more realistic and in depth then that. We also get to see the struggles of him having a relationship with another mutant girl which he isn’t allowed to touch because of her powers.

“We are having a romance of the mind” – David Haller.

Another aspect that I haven’t figured out yet is the fact that David is supposed to be Charles Xaviers son but we see in the series that his father is an astronomer? Besides we already know it sets in a pre- X men period. I hope this gets clarified in the coming episodes. I have so many questions unanswered.

I know that their is a second season planned, so I am stoked to know more!

PS: If you want some more in depth information then you can watch this video. I know that it helped me a lot! 🙂

Hi Internet,

I just want to put out there that I am a beginner at writing and my native language isn’t English. So it’s possible that I’ll make mistakes. The reason I chose to post on this platform is because I wanted to learn and grow trough the experience. If anyone has some tips or constructive advise, be free to react or contact me!

Also I want to inform that I added categories to my blog, so 1# Notebook will sometimes written in Dutch and The world of The Areandria will be always in English.

Thanks for passing by! 🙂
